Scandinavia had been on my 'bucket list' for many years. The day eventually arrived when I could see that this could be a real possibility, not a pipe dream. It was one of the most memorable trips I have ever been on. I truly loved Scandinavia!
Each country had wonderful towns, scenery and people. Around every corner there was something different and the beauty of each country was breathtaking.
I loved Copenhagen, especially the long shopping mall and Tivoli Gardens. I made a special trip to Odense to visit where Hans Christian Andersen lived.
Travelling through the countryside in Sweden before reaching Stockholm gave a little insight into the rural part of that country. It was fun shopping in the big department stores and then we boarded the ferry which would take us to Helsinki in Finland. Finland is different in many ways from the other Scandinavian countries. The outdoor markets offered some unique handcrafts that gave a little peep into the traditional crafts of that country. My trip took me into Russia to St Petersburg and then through to Tallin in Estonia, where once again we boarded the ferry to travel back to Stockholm and resumed our coach tour on through Norway. Norwegian scenery is absolutely spectacular with deep fjords which are like long fingers reaching deep into the countryside and stunning waterfalls. The little huts with their grass roofs were fascinating. The wooden stave churches were completely different from anything I'd previously seen. The houses in the hanseatic tradition along the wharf in Bergen reminded me so much of the ones in Copenhagen. In Bergen I had the opportunity to taste whale meat - an experience I won't forget. I loved the quaint streets and shops around the harbour in Bergen. Then it was on to Oslo, the capital of Norway. Oslo has fantastic modern sculptures!
This was indeed a most memorable trip (I've barely touched on my memories) but I would recommend a visit to whoever has a desire to see these fantastic Nordic countries, steeped in history, with Viking traditions and wonderful folklore - and irresistably delicious food.

This Mega Kit has a huge 95 individually unique elements (.pngs) and 24 gorgeous 12"x12" papers (.jpgs) in a variety of styles.
The elements are mostly photographic extractions, all saved at 300 dpi for best print quality. There are items from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland - these are labelled according to country for your information. Flowers and foliage are plentiful and relative to the Nordic region. Ribbons, frames and bows - enough to give you variety. Fauna found in these countries has also been included. Flags have been included as flairs.
