When I was growing up, my Dad built an aviary in our backyard. It was quite large and we bred budgerigars.
We had quite a few with an array of different colours. I liked the blue ones best of all. Some were almost all white. There were nesting boxes and we were always excited when we found that eggs had been laid. We waited with anticipation to see what our 'newbies' would be like. This is one of the very fond memoriesfrom my childhood. If we'd had digital photography and smart phones back then, I guess I would have a zillion photographs to scrapbook using this new collection. I don't - but I can always scrap the memories!
